Program & Roster Information
- Team registrations and assignments
- Rosters and participation history
- Coach and volunteer assignments
Coach & Volunteer Information
- Name and contact information
- Certifications and clearances (as required by Diocese and CYO policy)
Payment Information
- Program and registration payments (processed through parish-approved financial systems)
Communication Data
- SMS/text message opt-ins

- System notifications through CYO Connect
2. How Information Is Collected
Information is collected through:
- Parent/guardian registration in CYO Connect
- Parish Athletic Representatives (PARs) and Athletic Directors
- Coaches submitting rosters and team information
- Program registration and participation forms
CYO Connect may also use location-related inputs (such as address or school) to help determine parish eligibility and placement.
3. How We Use Your Information
CYO uses information to:
- Register athletes and manage team placements
- Verify eligibility based on parish boundaries and school attendance
- Maintain official rosters and league records
- Communicate schedules, updates, and program changes
- Send weather-related delays or cancellations
- Coordinate with parish leadership, coaches, and officials
- Ensure compliance with Diocese and CYO policies
- Manage program operations and logistics
4. Information Sharing
CYO does not sell or rent personal information.
Information is shared only as necessary to operate programs:
- Parish Leadership (Pastors, PARs, Athletic Directors)
- Coaches and Team Staff (for roster and communication purposes)
- CYO Staff and Assignors (for scheduling, officiating, and operations)
- Service Providers (e.g., CYO Connect platform, communication tools like Avochato)
All parties are expected to handle information responsibly and in accordance with CYO policies.
5. Financial Handling
CYO Brooklyn/Queens does not directly process or store cash payments.
All financial transactions are required to be handled through parish-approved accounts and systems, in accordance with parish and Diocese financial policies.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information within CYO Connect and associated systems. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Data Retention
Information is retained as necessary to:
- Maintain league records and eligibility history
- Support ongoing and future program operations
- Meet administrative and Diocese requirements
8. Children’s Privacy
CYO programs serve minors; however, all data is collected through parents/guardians or parish representatives. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
